Founded on the principle, "Small is beautiful and family is essential."

In 1983 Peter Van Ellis opened the Lawrence Art & Frame Gallery. A lifelong love of the arts has guided the philosophy of his family-run business. The gallery is a venue for showcasing the work of local artists and craftspeople, including Elizabeth Ruggles, Robert Sakson, Marge Chavooshian, Larry Chestnut, Jan Purcell, and others. Check out the Art and Crafts pages to see images and learn more about the work we represent.
In the frame shop, art continues to take center stage. Everyone on staff has an eye for simplicity, designing to accentuate the picture inside the frame. We use only the highest quality materials and pride ourselves on our commitment to exceptional customer service and craftsmanship. Take a look at the Framing page to see some examples of recent projects and to learn more about what we offer.
Peter's true calling is art conservation and restoration. Cleaning the residue from an old painting to reveal its original brilliant color is a kind of alchemy (part chemical, part magic). Patching a hole to make a broken painting again seamless is a similar feat. To see some before and after shots of these transformations, visit our Restoration page.
Taking care of artifacts, preserving and protecting them for generations to come, is at the core of every aspect of the Lawrence Art & Frame Gallery project.
